Job Description
- Signs in at the Housekeeping Office on time in a complete uniform, signs out for the floor key, and picks up the worksheet.
- Packs the Room Attendant’s cart properly with enough supplies and brings it to the designated area, keeping it always neat and clean, and never overloaded. Parks vacuum cleaner near the cart.
- Cleans hallways, staircases, and pantries daily.
- Starts to service rooms according to priority.
- Places that cart hallway in front of the entry door of the room being serviced, at least five inches away from the wall.
- Performs pick-up cleaning in vacant rooms, even if these are not blocked for the day.
- Cleans VIP rooms whether occupied or blocked for arrivals before 11:00 a.m.
- Cleans all assigned guest rooms according to procedures and standards set by the hotel.
- Replenishes the mini-bar as per procedures.
- Picks up all room service trays found in rooms and hallways, calls Room Service Attendant for pick up.
- Reports any illness, accidents befalling guests, or any irregularities to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Informs Front Office and P.M. Supervisor regarding lost and found items for proper handling, recording, and safekeeping.
- At dinner break, empties linen and trash bags, locks cart compartment, and parks cart properly.
- Reports any room that has not been serviced or unfinished assignments to the P.M. Supervisor.
- Keeps hallways, staircases, and pantries clean and orderly.
- At the end of the shift, cleans the vacuum cleaner, the Room Attendant’s cart, spoiled linen, and trash bags, ready for use the next day.
- Keeps the immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all and promotes positive relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, and mutual respect.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other Hotel and Casino employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
- Performs all assigned duties efficiently, technically correct, follows Company policies, rules, and regulations, requests of Superiors, adheres to procedures, and achieves a high standard leading to total guest and company satisfaction.
- Complies with all Corporate and Hotel Standards and Procedures.
- Updates oneself and follows security/fire/safety procedures according to the Company’s rules and regulations.
- Attends divisional/departmental meetings and training when requested.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
- Turns in spoiled face towels, rags, recyclable items, lost and found items, floor keys, and radio at the Housekeeping Office before signing out.
- When assigned as an Evening Room Attendant, performs the following duties:
- Signs in the Housekeeping Office at 12 p.m. in complete uniform.
- Accepts work assignments from the P.M. Floor Supervisor. Signs out for the floor keys
- Makes sure that the cart is properly supplied, brought to the designated area, and kept clean and neat at all times. Parks vacuum cleaner next to the cart. Places cart hallway in front of the entry door of the room being serviced, at least five inches away from the wall.
- Makes or picks up (as needed) all check-out rooms.
- Replenishes the mini-bar as needed in occupied rooms, and checks out rooms as per procedures.
- Provides turn-down service for all rooms at 5:00 p.m. for the evening.
- Receives additional instructions from the P.M. Floor Supervisor and reports progress of work.
- Takes out room service trays from the rooms and hallways, calls Room Service Attendant for pick up.
- Reports emergencies such as leaks, problems in toilets, or any defects that could result in damage to the room, inconvenience to the guest, or to the P.M. Supervisor for immediate action.
- Reports any illness, accidents befalling guests, or any irregularities to the superior.
Requirements
- At least College level
- At least 6 months of experience in a Housekeeping (Room Attendant) position.
- Must be able to work with all chemicals.
- Must be able to push and pull a 200-pound cart.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations
