DESCRIPTION:Batangas Swim Junkie Challenge 2019 \n9 Jun 6am-10am \nPunta Malabrigo\, Lobo\, Batangas 4229 \nIn 2005 the Verde Island Passage was declared as the World’s Center of Marine Shorefish Biodiversity (California Academy of Science). \nPerpetually under threat from overfishing\, industrial operations\, and pollution\, the quiet beachside municipality of Lobo Batangas pushes back by creating more sustainable\, environmentally responsible sources of income. Such as sports tourism. Because what happens in Lobo\, happens to the Verde Island Passage. \nAfter three years of racing and drawing attention to Lobo and the Verde Island Passage\, everyone’s efforts helped to stop a large-scale gold mining operation from pushing through. We are back for our fourth year with Swimjunkie Challenge: VIP LOBO. \nOnline registration opens on December 1\, 2018 (until slots are available).
