Puerto Princesa Councilor Calls to Ban City’s Revealing Ads
A Puerto Princesa Councilor has drafted an Ordinance to ban inappropriate tarps and promotional materials by the city’s bars and nightclubs in an effort to protect citizens and tourists from blatantly sexual and inappropriate images in public spaces.
Councilor Patrick Alex Hagedorn discussed the draft Ordinance, referred to as the Puerto Princesa Nightlife Decency Ordinance 2025, at a Peace and Order and Public Safety Committee on September 3. The Ordinance would see a ban on materials that depict men and women in “inappropriate” or “Overly revealing attire”.
Citizens are reportedly mostly in favor of the proposed Ordinance, believing that it will help restore the city to that of a “family-friendly place”.

Call for funding for Tourism Road Infrastructure Project
Cagayon de Oro 2nd District Representative, Rufus Rodriguez has called for the restoration of funding for the Tourism Road Infrastructure Project (TRIPs), in order to build much needed road infrastructure to and between Philippine tourist destinations, especially in Mindanao.
How can we continue to be able to develop our tourism sites in the different parts of the Philippines …. I would be asking that this committee be able to recommend to the plenary the restoration of at least ₱6 billion for the roads leading to tourist destinations.
Rodriguez made the call for the restoration of funding during the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation Budget Briefing, which took place on 2nd September.
He also praised the DOT for achieving ₱3.8 trillion in internal tourism expenditures, which translates to 8.9% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
