Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and manage housekeeping staff, including room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry personnel.
- Prepare staff schedules, assign daily tasks, and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
- Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, public areas, and other facilities to ensure cleanliness and quality standards.
- Ensure rooms are properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for guest check-in.
- Monitor housekeeping operations and address cleanliness or maintenance issues promptly.
- Coordinate with the Front Office regarding room status, early check-ins, late check-outs, VIP guests, and urgent room requests.
- Work closely with the Maintenance/Engineering Department to report and follow up on repairs and room maintenance concerns.
- Manage housekeeping supplies, linens, towels, cleaning products, and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and control the proper use of housekeeping supplies to minimize waste and costs.
- Establish and maintain cleaning procedures, checklists, and housekeeping standards.
- Handle guest complaints related to cleanliness, room conditions, or housekeeping services and ensure appropriate resolution.
- Conduct regular staff training on cleaning procedures, safety, hygiene, and customer service.
- Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain records and prepare reports related to housekeeping activities, inventory, staffing, and operational expenses.
- Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and workplace regulations.
- Coordinate deep cleaning, special cleaning projects, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist with budgeting and controlling housekeeping department expenses.
- Ensure lost-and-found items are properly recorded, secured, and handled according to company policy.
- Support management in maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, hotel operations, hospitality, or a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to handle complaints and resolve operational issues.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and housekeeping equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, reporting, inventory, and administrative tasks.
